Hubbell House on VanCleef Lake Bed & Breakfast

Our Home

Our charming, Gothic Revival home is a three story, hillside cottage that was built in 1855 with all "improvements" made around 1870. The structure is an excellent example of Gothic Revival architecture.

The antique decor has a Victorian flavor that can be savored in every room. You'll find exquisite little treasures & delights everywhere! In addition to a beautiful room, our guests have access to the double parlors, a library (chalked full of antique toys and a collection of interesting Seneca Falls items and ephemera), a butler's pantry with a refrigerator and complimentary coffee and tea, and a large dining room that opens to a wonderful wrap-a-round screened porch that overlooks the lake and canal.

The outdoor world of the Hubbell House begins the moment you step out onto the porch. From this two-story vantage point, you overlook a garden and a sloping lawn leading down to the private boat dock. The dock juts out into the tranquil waters of VanCleef Lake, that is part of the Seneca - Cayuga Barge Canal and Locks 2 & 3. Escape to the dock for some quiet time, take a paddle-boat for a spin around the lake, take a refreshing swim, or try your luck at fishing.

We are very proud to mention that the Hubbell house was featured in many fine publications. Some of the best coverage can be found in the following publications:
