Our charming, Gothic
Revival home is a three story, hillside cottage that was built in 1855 with
all "improvements" made around 1870. The structure is an excellent
example of Gothic Revival architecture.
The
antique decor has a Victorian flavor that can be savored in every room.
You'll find exquisite little treasures & delights everywhere! In
addition to a beautiful room, our guests have access to the double parlors,
a library (chalked full of antique toys and a collection of interesting Seneca
Falls items and ephemera), a butler's pantry with a refrigerator and
complimentary coffee and tea, and a large dining room that opens to a wonderful
wrap-a-round screened porch that overlooks the lake and canal.
The
outdoor world of the Hubbell House begins the moment you step out onto the
porch. From this two-story vantage point, you overlook a garden
and a sloping lawn
leading down to the private boat dock. The dock juts out into the tranquil waters
of VanCleef Lake, that is part of the Seneca - Cayuga Barge Canal and
Locks 2 & 3. Escape to the dock for some quiet time, take a
paddle-boat for a spin around the lake, take a refreshing swim, or try your
luck at fishing.
We
